A Celebration of WTTW and WFMT

Event Chairs Renée and Lester Crown and the Board of Trustees of WTTW and WFMT invite you to our annual gala. This evening is inspired by the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and the American people’s spirit of exploration, curiosity, and innovation. This historic event will be marked on PBS with the premiere of American Experience: Chasing the Moon in the summer of 2019.

The evening will include special interviews with Captain Jim Lovell, NASA Astronaut, and Poppy Northcutt, first female engineer at NASA Mission Control, and a musical performance of hits from 1969 showcasing Broadway stars Abby Mueller and Quentin Earl Darrington.

Quentin Earl Darrington was most recently seen on Broadway as Agwe in the Tony Award-winning revival of Once On This Island, for which he earned a Grammy nomination. He made his Broadway debut
in the 2010 Tony-nominated revival of Ragtime, starring as Coalhouse Walker Jr. and was also seen as Old Deuteronomy in the Broadway revival of CATS. A native of Florida, his extensive career has taken him from the Bay to Broadway
and beyond performing in numerous shows and concerts traveling 46 US states, Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe also in the national tours of Memphis, The Color Purple, The Lion King, and Ragtime.
